10 Minute Chocolate Fudge Topping
This rich and decadent chocolate fudge topping boasts a wonderfully smooth, almost caramel-like quality. It requires only four ingredients and a mere 10 minutes of your time. Simply combine everything in a large pot and stir while it boils for about 8 minutes. The result is a luxurious sauce that's fantastic poured over ice cream or enjoyed straight from the spoon. Any leftovers will firm up in the fridge and can be gently reheated when needed.
Ingredients
- 1 (12 ounce) can evaporated milk
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup salted butter (or 1 stick)
- 3 semi-sweet chocolate baking squares
Method
- Combine all of the ingredients in a large pot and set it over high heat. Using a large pot helps to minimise splattering as the mixture boils. Bring the contents to a boil, then stir constantly for 8-10 minutes. Any leftover topping should be covered and stored in the refrigerator.
- The topping will firm up once chilled. To reheat, place it in a pot over medium-low heat, stirring now and then. Alternatively, you can microwave it, beginning with 30 seconds, stirring, and then heating in 10 second bursts until warm.
- One serving is equivalent to 2 tablespoons.
