This popular American pea salad is a creamy and flavourful lunch dish, ready in only 15 minutes. It combines thawed frozen petite peas with finely chopped smoke-flavored almonds and onion. The ingredients are bound together with mayonnaise and a seasoning of black pepper. No cooking is required, making it a simple, no-fuss recipe that serves 10 people. Ingredients
- 2 (16 ounce) packages frozen petite peas
- 6 ounces smoke-flavored almonds, finely chopped
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 cup mayonnaise, or more to taste
- ground black pepper to taste
Method
- Put the frozen peas into a colander and run cold water over them until they are thawed. Let them drain, then move them to a large mixing bowl.
- Mix the finely chopped almonds and onion thoroughly into the peas. Gently incorporate the mayonnaise and black pepper into the mixture until everything is well coated. Place a cover on the bowl and chill it in the refrigerator before you serve.
