Baked Chicken With Marinara Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 3 lbs fryer, cut up
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 (15 ounce) can marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill
  • 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese

Method

  1. Rinse the chicken pieces under cold water and pat them thoroughly dry with paper towels.
  2. Mix the flour, salt and pepper together inside a paper or plastic bag.
  3. Place a few chicken pieces into the bag at a time, shaking to coat them evenly in the flour mixture.
  4. Arrange the coated chicken pieces in a single layer within a shallow baking dish.
  5. Dot the tops of the chicken pieces with small pieces of butter.
  6. Place the dish in the oven and bake at 450 for 25 minutes.
  7. Take the baking dish from the oven and pour the entire can of marinara sauce over the chicken.
  8. Sprinkle the dried dill and the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the sauce.
  9. Lower the oven temperature to 350 and return the dish to bake for another 25 minutes.
