1-2-3 Chili
This straightforward chili is assembled with just a few key ingredients. Ground beef is first browned, then combined with canned chili beans and tomato sauce in a slow cooker. It cooks unattended for several hours, developing deep flavour. The finished dish is served with a garnish of shredded cheddar cheese and sliced green onions for a comforting and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 3 (15 1/2 ounce) cans chili beans, in mild undrained
- 4 (8 ounce) cans tomato sauce
- shredded cheddar cheese
- sliced green onion
Method
- Begin by browning the ground beef in a large nonstick skillet, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain off any excess fat.
- Transfer the cooked beef into your slow cooker. Add the cans of chili beans and the tomato sauce, then stir everything together until well combined.
- Place the lid on the slow cooker. Set it to cook on the LOW setting for 6 to 8 hours.
- When ready to serve, ladle the chili into bowls and top each portion with shredded cheddar cheese and sliced green onions.
